The renovations began in the fall of 2011 and continued over the next 4 years. The first 2 years focused on reclaiming overgrown fields, installing insulated waterers, putting up over 5 miles of new fencing, and building run-in sheds to allow for healthy field rotation and best management practices. The second phase of the project took on a complete renovation of the 110 year old barns which was largely carried out by Dulany's second cousin, Thomas Tyler, another great-grandson of Col. Harris. Thomas made a name for himself during the restoration of Montpelier in Orange, VA and has since become a fixture in Virginia's hunt country for carpentry, construction, and restoration. He joined our project in 2013 and brought the talent and enthusiasm needed to see the venture through to the end.
